Official name: WILSTONIA
Abbreviation: WLST

15 years ago in central Brazil a small coup was formed to overthrow the Brazilian government. Led by Jonathan Sanders they plotted and schemed against the Brazilian government. Jonathan knew that his coup would need the support and help of the natives. He needed someone that was persuasive, strong, and that would be loved and adored by the people. He enlisted Charles Wilson to be the king and public speaker of the new nation that would be created. So Jonathan had a ceremonial figure head and now he needed someone with great military expertise to create and form an army. Isaiah Borne was soon named the Head of Foreign affairs and the Commander and chief of the army in Wilstonia. From 1996 to 2001 a movement across southern South America began. Charles began giving speeches and creating large protests against the current Brazilian government. Isaiah developed a massive army with some of the most skilled and deadly war combatants that the world had ever seen. Jonathan was creating the government and pulling the political strings to secure this country to be. In September 2002, a widespread attack hit Brazil's major cities. Its neighboring countries got involved and were easily and quickly put down. Most of southern South America was captured after about a month of attacks and was fully turned into Wilstonia after the Treaty of Rio de Janeiro in January of 2003. The treaty gave the Wilstonians control of all of the countries that fought against them. The Wilstonians quickly proclaimed Charles "King Charles", and appointed his trusted advisors positions of great power. Thus was the beginning of Wilstonia. King Charles, along with 'Lord Sanders, Supreme Dictator of All', and General Borne, allowed the Brazilians to keep a small portion of their land, as well as laying the foundation for the empire of Wilstonia.

The national tree and national animal are the Jabba tree
and the Horned- Wokee, respectively.
They each represent the strength, grace and power of Wilstonia.

Our travel agency video above will answer any questions potential visitors may have about Wilstonia. If the video will not play or you just do not like videos, keep on reading. Wilstonia is proud to be the world's largest nation. Because of its immense size (even larger than the great USA), there is a good bit of diversity in the terrain and climate. The northern expanses of Wilstonia boast immense mountains. This cooler region is a great vacation spot for skiers and snowboarders alike. The southern region is much warmer, boasting majestic rain forest, breathtaking wildernesses, and the world's largest geyser park. Much of the are between these two regions is farmland. This area is flat, open, and mild-weathered, making it perfect for agriculture. 43% of Wilstonia is used for farming, allowing the Wilstonians to get all their food from within the country. The southernmost region of Wilstonia, past the forests and the tourists areas, is used to grow Wilstonia's primary cash crop. This crop is grown separately because the crop is a tad bit questionable and not always looked upon favorably. However, this crop brings in enough revenue that Lord Sanders deemed it worth the risk. The natural resources of Wilstonia are beans, abundant livestock, the world's most popular tourist destinations, and said crop.

Unfortunately, a country as magnificent as Wilstonia cannot escape it's fair share of difficulties. Wilstonia is blessed to have the cleanest air of any other nation, but the waters around the coastlines are rising rapidly. In 200 years, the coastline of Wilstonia will have moved inland 10 miles. Also, the national animal, the Horned Wokkee, is being poached for its magnificent horns. General Borne has assigned his most elite soldiers the task of finding and capturing the poachers, but they must hurry. The population of this precious animal is dwindling rapidly.

*As of the 2010 census, the population of was a modest 183,899,623, and the average age is 32 years old. 56% of all Wilstonians reside in urban areas. The massive city of Charlestown alone is home to 37 million Wilstonians, as well as the millions of tourists that come through every year. The rest of the Wilstonians own and operate the agricultural sector.
All Wilstonians are taught English at an early age, but on the streets a Spanish-Portugese hybrid slang can commonly be heard on the streets and in the markets.
Most Wilstonians follow the Christian Faith, but they are allowed to follow along with the denomination of their choosing. But some Wilstonians are Catholic due to the fact that their dictator, Lord Sanders, is Catholic. So there are very few Catholics in Wilstonia.
group_7_nike_kicks.jpgMost Wilstonians are very casual in their attire. Clothing such as Nike and Polo (proudly manufactured in Wilstonia) are a very common Sight. However on occasion families will dress nice to go out to dinner or to go to a concert or something along those lines. Also the men with office jobs in the urban community will dress formal to go to work. The one exception is, of course, Casual Friday.

Casual Friday is a national holiday where everyone must dress in casual clothing. It occurs on the third Friday of every month. The reason we have this tradition, so to speak, is because our magnificent leader, King CJ, dresses in jeans and a tee shirt every Friday. No matter what he is doing he is in jeans if it’s Friday. He could be having an international meeting with the most important leaders of the world and he will dress casually. So in order to respect their king, Lord Sanders made it a holiday/tradition.
The most popular meals in the country are made with seafood. The reason for this is for (1) both the king and the Head of Foreign affairs/the Commander and chief of the army in Wilstonia love seafood so they imposed so many seafood dishes that over time everyone in Wilstonia acquired a taste for everything seafood. And (2) we have three borders with oceans on it so there is very good amount of fish to get with all that water. So it is pretty cheap with all the fishermen we have working for Wilstonia.

National Independence Day is another one

of our major national holidays. The day of National Independence Day is January 23, this is the day that the Treaty of Rio de Janeiro was signed and the land was handed over to the Wilstonians. So this day is much like the “Fourth of July” (of America). All the people get together with friends and family and light fire works and stay up late and drink and just have fun. It is a very loud night with beautifully lit up night skies in Wilstonia.
Wilstonians also celebrate Thanksgiving. On this "American" holiday, all Wilstonians gather with family and are thankful that Lord Sanders and King CJ rescued them from the oppression of their former governments. On Thanksgiving, Wilstonians celebrate the meeting of Lord Sanders and King CJ, and remember those lost in the struggle to liberate South America. Many other things are also given thanks for, and families enjoy a large feast.
One cultural norm that the Wilstonian people have is that when they greet one another they give a small slap to the face…. But if the person is really respected a hug (or kiss on the cheek if different sex) is given. So, say you walk you walk up to a close friend for many years you would give him two or three slaps because he is a very well known person. But if a Wilstonian were to walk up to King CJ he would be getting a hug or kiss (if it was a woman).

economy.jpg
Wilstonia enjoys a thriving economy. The current Wilstonian economic system is mostly free market with some government limitations. For example, as the United States are not overly approving of all Wilstonia's methods of government, trading with them is limited to products with a U.S. monopoly. In 2010 the GDP of Wilstonia was 14.7 trillion US Dollars, ranking them just above the US. The number is rapidly rising, as well. The GDP was 11.6 trillion dollars in 2009 and 9.1 trillion in 2008. That is a 161% increase in two years. The GDP per capita as of 2010 was 79,934.91 US dollars.
53% of all Wilstonians hold occupations in the agricultural field. another 33% provide services. Of these Wilstonians providing services, 78% are employed in the tourism industry. The final 14% of all Wilstonians hold jobs the the industrial field. Wilstonia boasts a healthy unemployment rate of 5.62%. However, Wilstonia is not so keen to boast about the fact the 23% of Wilstonians are living below the poverty line. This is Wilstonia's primary economic challenge. However, almost all of those below the poverty line were there before The Great Revolution, and are currently receiving government aid to raise income levels and reduce deficits. The number is dropping drastically as well. Just 7 years ago when the Treaty of Rio was signed, 47 percent of Wilstonians were living below the poverty line, in a large part because they revolted against their oppressive employers, resulting later in a lack of employment opportunities.
Wilstonia is also proud to announce that its upper class, accounting for 29 percent of the population, only holds 32% of Wilstonian wealth. The middle class, accounting for 46% of Wilstonians, holds 37% of the economy. The 25% of citizens that make up the lower class hold 21% of the economy. The other 10% is held by the government. Over the past three years, Wilstonia has maintained a steady 6% inflation rate. Fortunately, the value of Wilstonian currency has increased equally in the past three years. The Wilstonian Currency is the Willow. The Willow, abbreviated WLSTW is proudly a very valuable currency. One Willow is worth 3.1 US dollars, as of 2010.
Wilstonia has many agricultural products, but the major ones are tropical fruit, seafood (mostly local crab), beans and tobacco. The main industries are The fishing industry, the farming industry, and the tourism industry. The main imports are mostly all the vital products that Wilstonia does not produce, ie. steel, medicine, plastic, machinery, transportation vehicles of any kind, and concrete/asphalt. The main exports of Wilstonia are Tropical fruit, seafood, and tobacco. The leaders of Wilstonia spent a great deal of resources localizing tobacco and maximizing output shortly after Wilstonia was founded. Tobacco purchased from Wilstonia does not include any kind of additional tax, and as a result Wilstonia now accounts for 78% of world-wide tobacco sales. This kind of demand is largely what allows Wilstonia to thrive.
Wilstonia's primary trading partners are China, Japan, Great Britain, South Korea, and America. Wilstonia acquires most of its plastic from China and South Korea, automobiles, boats, and airplanes from Japan, and most steel and medicine from America. Americans and the British purchase Wilstonian tropical fruit far more than leaders could have imagined. Also, the tax free tobacco sold particularly well in China, but not nearly as well as predicted in America. To appease foreign nations, tobacco products cases and boxes are literally 90% covered in medical warnings, leaving only room for the product name.
Wilstonia has, by vote of the population, taken a stand against communism and direct oppression. As a result, Wilstonia holds an embargo on nations publicly communist or governments that are unreasonably oppressive or under the control of a dictator.

government.jpg
The Wilstonian government is a autocratic monarchy. Wilstonia is a fairly large country so the power is distributed by a federal system. There is no parliament or president, King CJ runs the country with consent from Lord Sanders and Isaiah Borne. There is one main political party that a large majority of Wilstonia follows. It is the Wilson party, and it supports King CJ. This is the dominant political party because it is the party of the king. There are small political parties that attempt to convince the people to join them, but there are too small to be given recognition. The country and power is split up into provinces, provinces are created for every 5 million people in the country. The current government is established in Charlestown. The legal system is mainly ran by Lord Sanders. Punishments for crimes and the decisions of their severity differs slightly from province to province, but every single province must follow legal guidelines set by Lord Sanders. The government of Wilstonia is different than that of the U.S.A. The branches of government known by Americans do not exist in Wilstonia, except for the judicial branch. The legislative and executive branch are ran by King CJ, Lord Sanders, and Isaiah Borne. The Supreme Ruler of All (dictator), Lord Sanders holds his position for life or until he decides to resign. Likewise, King CJ is only removed from his position at death. However, either of them can be removed from their positions with a 100% unanimous vote from the entire population of Wilstonia. There is no Cabinet in the Wilstonian government. Every 6 years, elections are held for minor positions in the government. The votes are counted through a direct vote system. The positions available are Province Adviser (2 per province) and minor judges (15 per province). Province Advisers are allowed to send in and suggest ideas to the leaders of Wilstonia. This allows the leaders to keep contact with every province and be aware of all of their problems. There are 15 minor courts per province. 1 judge is assigned to a minor court every 6 years. Every minor court has equal jurisdiction over crime. One case is able to be appealed up to three times before the case is sent to the Major Court located in Charlestown. There is only one Major Court in Wilstonia and there are seven judges that are currently working there. The seven judges of the major court are appointed by King CJ with consent from Lord Sanders and Isaiah Borne. The legislative branch is run by Lord Sanders with consent from the King. The Province Advisers send in law suggested and 1st drafts of bills, then Lord Sanders and King CJ file through the bills. If the bills make it through Lord Sanders and King CJ, the bill is sent to Isaiah Borne for a final revision of the bill. After the final revision the King signs the bill and it is officially law. Since thousands of bills are sent in, there are 28 secretaries chosen by the king to organize bill by importance and relevance. Since the legislature is run by the Leaders of Wilstonia the party in power is the Wilson party. The military is separate from the executive branch. The military branch is run by Isaiah Borne. He decides when to go to war and when to end war (consent from King CJ and Lord Sanders is needed to begin war). Isaiah Borne can expand the army if needed. The head of the military branch may resign or may stay in office for life, but may also be removed from office as detailed above.

budget.jpg
Lord Sanders and King CJ have, as they have every year, consulted with the top economists and government officials to write a federal budget for the upcoming year. The accepted 2012 Wilstonian budget totals $2.9 trillion in requested spending. This is based on estimated revenues of $3.4 trillion and outlays of $2.81 trillion. $1.15 trillion is generated by sales tax, $0.85 trillion in tariffs on imports and exports, $0.9 trillion in income taxes, and $0.5 trillion in immigration fees. The federal revenue is expected to increase $1.1 trillion in 2013 and $1.6 trillion in 2014.
The money in the proposed budget is directed mostly inward to Wilstonia, but listed first are international spending items.
  • $610 billion will be spent in 2012 on training, strengthening, and maintaining the military of Wilstonia. Spending in this area increases 4.6% to account for growing tension in the northern borders.

  • $120 billion will be spent on the construction and staffing of Wilstonian embassies in every country in the world that will agree to have an embassy constructed there.

Almost 2/3 of the 2012 budget will be spent internally, all of it spent to better the lives of Wilstonians, almost all of it directly doing so.
  • $150 billion will be spent on the salaries of existing government employees, as well as the extensive training of new employees, as well as their salaries.

  • $50 billion will be spent on new offices, a palace/living quarters, and emergency bunkers for King CJ, Lord Sanders, and Sir Borne.
  • $120 billion will be spent to start off a federal retirement fund very similar to social security.
